Experts say 45 degrees is optimal temperature for carbonated beverages. Any warmer then this and the beverage will start to lose carbonation and will go flat. This being said the CoolIT Beverage Chiller did not live up to its claims temperature wise. I will say this however this little unit did a great job cooling the drink compared to leaving it on your desk. I personally don’t sit there drinking my beer over a 2 hour period so the loss of carbonation isn’t really an issue.
It is a nifty little unit and I would definitely use it again purely based on its novelty. The chiller would also make a great gift for any office workers or gamers you know. Most people wouldn’t go out and buy one of these for themselves in my opinion, and that is exactly why it’s a safe gift because most wouldn’t have one already. In the end I would recommend this little unit to any one interested. I wont be over clocking my soda or beer any time soon so the just about 10 degree difference between the packaging and real life temps doesn’t upset me too much. Pros:
