Conclusion:
Overall the performance and the products that come with the LiteOn iHBS212 12x Internal Blu-ray Disc Writer is impressive. I have been running the burner for a week and I am very happy with the burn speeds, and the included software. I purchased a Blu-ray burner with the first iteration of software from Power DVD and when it came to Blu-rays it was buggy and even crashed on occasion. The Bundled software with the LiteOn iHBS212 12x Internal Blu-ray Disc Writer have reached a much better stability level and includes everything you need right out of the box. In my opinion for under $150 this drive should be in everyone’s rig that does a lot of movie watching and burning on their PC.
The sound dampening “ABS” system used really does cut down the noise of a typical drive, when the disc is spinning up to be read or your are burning the sound is a lot less noticeable which is ideal for a home theater setup or a small home office.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, it is well made, fast enough, quiet enough, and includes the best software bundle I have seen to date for any HTPC builders, budget.
Pros:
- Price
- Software
- Quiet ABS System
- 12X Burn on Blu Ray
Cons:
- Slower DVD Writing Speeds
