Testing:
I will by using a 320GB hard drive in the docking station and then running the same tests that we always use for Enclosures. I will time the speeds using a stopwatch; I will be transferring a 143mb WMV file to the hard drive and then back. For a comparison to USB 2.0 I will be doing the same test but through USB 2.0 instead of 3.0.
USB 3.0 copy to BlakcX 5G: 7.6 Secs.
USB 3.0 copy from BlakcX 5G: 1.2 secs.
USB 2.0
USB 2.0 C Drive to External: 54.1 secs.
USB 2.0 C Drive from External: 8 secs.
Conclusion:
Overall The Thermaltake Blacx 5G is a great product, with much improvements from the BlacX. I love the features and how it gives you the ability to put in different sized hard drives. Another point I really liked is the use of an eject button it makes you feel like your taking it out properly, unlike other ones were you have to pull it out and your scared your going to break it.
Would I recommend this product? Defiantly, it is well made and simple to use. This isn't something I'd say that is 100% necessary for your computer, but it is defiantly an excellent product in the right hands.
Pro's:
- Simple
- Eject Button
- USB 3.0
- Great Speeds
- Driver is VERY!!! hard to find online
