In order to have your computer running with the big boys it take a deluxe enthusiast grade motherboard, dual or quad core cpu, sli/crossfire , don’t forget in order to run at peak performance you need a plethora of case fans and or a water cooling kit. All of these fancy fandangle extras suck the juice, so your little old 300W PSU just does cut it in the big boy’s world anymore. This is where the Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S 1000W Power Supply comes in; it has everything you would need to run the majority of your enthusiast grade extras. Not only does it come with serious horsepower it also sports some very nice LED’s and near complete modular design to keep your case free from excess clutter. Let’s get a closer look at this bad boy:Provided by: Kingwin
The packaging for the Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S 1000W Power Supply is very similar to other Kingwin products. It is very well designed and includes all the important specs you would need. Usually I like a window on the package to see the products but heavier products can't have windows in there packaging because the weight of the product will disintegrate the packaging window.
The Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S 1000W Power Supply includes: 4-pin Peripheral Power Connector X 8, 4-pin Floppy Drive Connector X 1, 24-pin (20+4 pin) Main Connector X 1, 4-pin +12V Power Connector X 1, 8-pin + 12V Power Connector X 1, 6-pin PCI Express Connector X 2, 5-pin SATA Connector X 8, 8-pin (6+2 pin) PCI Express Connector X 2. There is also a manual and a heavy dusty power cable included:
The Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S 1000W Power Supply is a very nice looking power supply. It is not 100% modular like the CoolmaxUSA 950W modular we reviewed in the past but the only cables attached are the motherboard 20+4 pin and an 8 and 4 pin which are cables most motherboards will need. The fact that the only cables that aren’t modular are the ones mentioned previously makes this a tolerable con.
The modular design for the Kingwin ABT-1000MA1S 1000W Power Supply is very unique I personally have never seen a modular design done in this fashion. You actually have to plug the cables in and then tighten them down with a screw on ring. Once the cables are in place and you boot up all the modules with cables light up with bright blue LED’s.
