Testing: For testing I will be doing a few standard tests. First I will connect a LCD power supply tester before I connect it to my PC. Next I will record the voltages while it runs idle and then under load, which will be achieved by running the Prime 95 burn-in test. The idle and load numbers will be regulated by the on board motherboard sensors. I will be testing the Nexus RX-1K 1000 watt PSU against the Thermaltake Toughtpower 750 watt PSU. LCD Tester
Idle / Load Voltages
So from these we can see that both of these PSU are very good and stable under load and idle conditions, and we can see that all the rails are producing the proper power that they should be which makes both a great option. With the Nexus RX-1K 1000 watt PSU however you still get a lot more power, it is at least partially modular which helps clean up the case and makes cable management a lot easier. So let’s move on to my final thoughts:
