Conclusion:

In the end I really like the Nexus RX-1K 1000 watt PSU. While its price is a little on the high for some, most looking for a good gaming PSU know that with great power comes some cost. Don’t let this detour you though, this is still a great PSU. From the tests we see that this little guy didn’t even fluctuate under the stress of the burn-in, and that all of the rails produced the proper amount of power, within acceptable fluctuations.

Another great thing about this unit is its size. Because of its size, which is no larger than a normal sized unit, I could easily fit this in the B-gears B-Envy Micro ATX Chassis with no problem. One last thing that kept slipping my mind is that as with most Nexus products, at least with all the ones we have received, this PSU is net to silent which in my opinion is always a great thing because most PCs a loud enough and don’t need that additional noise from a loud PSU.

So would I recommend this PSU? Well if you’re looking for a good large power, all round solid gaming PSU then yes. For those looking for a new or those looking to replace their old gaming PSU this might be a good option. With its solid power capabilities, partial modular design, and the fact that it’s a 1000 watt PSU that doesn’t jump to a larger size unit just makes this an ideal choice for those that are looking for a large PSU but have some space constrictions.

Pros:

  • Solid power
  • Partial Modular
  • Small for its power class
  • Looks nice, gun metal finish
  • Near Silent

Cons:

  • None that I can think of
