http://t0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:bWEkr-U-ddnYOM:bGaming laptops have really started asserting themselves in the gaming community. In the past laptops limited CPU capabilities and graphics support made them an overly expensive luxury that few wanted to even bother with. Now that we are starting to see i7 and i5’s and more powerful GPU’s making their way to the mobile market gaming laptops have leaped in popularity. The one issue with all of this new beefier technology going into laptops is that there is not a lot of room for good cooling and for some of the gaming laptops that are sporting 18.5 inch + screens, your standard laptop cooler just doesn’t step up to save the day. Cooler Master saw the need and filled it. The new CM Storm SF-19 is a beautiful piece of engineering in about as portable a package as a 19 inch laptop cooler can be.  Let’s check it out more in depth and see if it is right for your mobile powerhouse:

Specifications and Features:

The SF-19 is constructed with an enormous heat-dissipating surface that is made to endure high temperatures from all notebooks sizes. It is a state-of-the-art notebook cooler for all 19" gaming notebooks and beyond.

Its cold-forged polygon mesh surface allows maximum air flow from two high velocity fans and is structured to efficiently normalize thermal formations which effectively cools and alleviates tough thermal build-up spots.

Built for mobility, the SF-19’s swift-carrying handle is built with an intuitive design that is backed by sturdy construction. Its made for quick LAN-party relocation

4 advanced UBS 3.0 ports – supports next generation gaming notebooks. (Strike Force model only)

Reinforced with premium anti-slip grips, the SF-19 safely secures all notebooks in place even when under stress from rigorous gaming. The rubberized areas also protect the SF-19 from damage by adding shock absorption to protect the hardware while in transit. In addition to the anti-slip features, it also acts as a cable management system

Multi-light Shader™ displays 7 changeable LED colors that can be personalized with a breathing effect. It creates the ultimate ambience for your favorite gaming rig.

Conclusion:

Overall Cooler Master did it right; for a first attempt at a veritable monster of a laptop cooler they did a fantastic job of packing all of the features gamers wanted, and didn’t know they wanted. This Cooler is the most customizable laptop cooler I have ever seen to date and I am more than just a little impressed but its performance. Cooler Master has officially solidified themselves as THE gaming laptop manufacturer and other competing companies are really going to have to step it up if they want to catch up.

Would I recommend this product? Yes, if you spent thousands on a gaming laptop that is 19 inches and you are not running this cooler you need to be slapped. The extra $80 can improve the life of your laptop by literally years. If you don’t have one, get one!

Pros:

  • Price Performance Ratio
  • Extremely Customizable
  • Light Weight
  • As Portable as Something This Size can be
  • USB 3.0 HUB!
  • Simple Clean Cord Management

Cons:

  •  I would Love to See a Higher End (More Metal) Version (Just a request not so Much a con)
