This is by far one of the best news articles since the tech at dell told the woman to pack up her computer and return it to the store. A woman wanted to buy a Wii for her child as a gift. She did not buy anygames to go along with it so she asked her neighbor; a young knowledgeable man what she should do. He informed her of how to connect the Wii to the internet via her ethernet cable. After connecting it he told her " all she needed to do was put in her credit card when prompted on the Shop Channel, and get the amount of points she wanted."
Maybe it was the wording he used or perhaps this woman has not enough chlorean in her gene pool, but she decided to physically stick her credit card into the Wii. Most people would stop realize that what they did was about as smart as shoving there wallet into the disc drive on there computer to purchase something on ebay. Of course they would stop when it didn't work, not this woman! She proceded to try two more cards and called guy back complaining it didn't work. After the realization of what she did he informed her of her error and thta she would need to send it in to Nintendo to be fixed.
It is at this point where the story gets even better. The woman becomes furious and tells the guy that he should have to pay to repair it for giving her misinformation. The argument when back and forth for awhile the husband of the wife was thankfully not blissfully ignorant as his wife tried reasoning with her as well. The woman is going away on a business trip and the young man and the husband are going to take apart the console and fix it while she is gone.
It is at this point I would like to point out that the Nintendo Wii manual does not actually tell you not to put your credit card into the system so really it's there fault. They need to add this figure below for our epically retarded friends out there.
