Specifications and Features:
I will test this product by using a 320GB hard drive in the enclosure and then running the same tests that we always use for Enclosures. I will time the speeds using a stopwatch, I will be transferring a 143mb WMV. video file to the hard drive and then back. And, for comparison to USB 2.0 I will be doing the same test, but through USB 2.0 instead of 3.0, and will also be comparing it to the BlacX 5.
C Drive through USB 3.0 to Max 5G: 7.5 Secs.
Max 5G through USB 3.0 to C Drive: 0.7 secs.
BlakX 5G USB 3.0:
C Drive through USB 3.0 to BlakcX 5G: 7.6 Secs.
BlakcX 5G through USB 3.0 to C Drive: 1.2 secs.
C Drive through USB 2.0 to USB 2.0 Card: 54.1 secs.
USB 2.0 Card through USB 2.0 to C Drive: 8 secs.
Overall the Thermaltake Max 5G is a great product, with many new and better features compared to your usual enclosures. I love the look of it and how easy it is to set up with only a 5 step process. Another point I really liked, is the ability to switch on and off the fan LED’s because for me, and possibly many of you, I do have a PC in my bedroom, and I already have enough blinking lights on my case. The ability to switch it off is just great.
Would I recommend this product? Definately, it is well made and simple to use. This is definately a useful piece of tech for those of you out of space, looking for better cooling for your HDD, or really whatever your reason may be.
