In the past, I was never a fan of wireless technology, but in the past few years, I have been finding that wireless devices have improved by leaps and bounds. Everyone seems to be throwing their hat in the ring when it comes to pc mice. Some mice look appealing but fail to provide what some are looking for, while others are sometimes unreliable. With so many options sometimes it's hard to tell what kind of mouse would suit your needs, then came the Verbatim GO Wireless Desktop Laser Mouse. With changeable DPI settings, laser point accuracy, and a comfortable grip, this mouse is a great choice for almost all types of pc users. With the freedom of not being tied down with wires, yet still having great control, I never knew this was the mouse I always wanted. Let’s take a closer look at why this was such a great find: Provided by: Verbatim Closer Look: An eye-catching box, straightforward information on the back, and the ability to see the product have always been something I appreciated about product packaging. The sleek-looking Verbatim Wireless Desktop Laser Mouse is a great product with many different features such as laser precision, dual thumb buttons, and changeable DPI settings just to name a few. The mouse itself is quite comfortable and easy to use, as soon as you find the on-off switch on the bottom. This mouse would look good on any desk, whether it is a home, office, or in some cases on the coffee table. The button on the top is where you can change the DPI sensitivity settings of the mouse on the fly. It has three settings and the brighter it is the higher the DPI. Now let’s set up the software: Closer Look: (software) Even though you don’t have to install the software, I would strongly recommend it, this is how some of the more useful features of this mouse are turned on. To install the software that was provided with the mouse, all you have to do is drop the disk in the drive and off you go. Installation was a breeze with a fast, easy, and step-by-step install menu. You can even choose whether you want a 3 button or 5 button mouse in this step of the installation. Once the install is done, and the mouse is working at peak efficiency, all that was left is to make a few changes. You can increase both the scroll wheels' vertical and horizontal scroll speeds, customize the functions of the scroll wheel, and the two thumb buttons with a wide range of options. Some of the options are to set them up as function keys, minimize all windows, open the start menu, and launch the internet to a specific page. While doing this I will be noting comfort, precision, and customization. While working on the photos after about an hour my hand started to cramp up a little bit The hand cramp wasn’t that bad and after I took a short break, I was back at it and didn’t have it happen again after that. While working on the photos I found that the customization of the buttons to be a big help. Being able to zoom in and out with only having to move my thumb was great, with the vertical and horizontal scroll wheel I was able to navigate smoothly through my document with ease. With a few clicks, I was able to link my buttons with the ability to move back and forward through the pages that I was browsing. At the moment my armchair is my desk/mousepad, I was still doing considerably well with accuracy and control. Again being able to link actions to the thumb buttons, to specific keystrokes had improved my play through a lot more than previous occasions with generic mice. It proved to be far superior to your standard mouse in every aspect, dominating it in every way imaginable. Now on to my Final Thoughts: Conclusion: Overall I found that it was a good all-around mouse, well suited for most jobs. While not at the top of the pack, it’s still far superior to standard mice and well worth the small price jump. The Verbatim mouse was the only wireless mouse tested. I have to say that for reliability the Verbatim did fairly well, seeing that most wireless mice I used in the past weren’t always that reliable to use for surfing the internet, let alone for gaming needs. In some cases, I found that the customization was better on the Verbatim mouse. On Ideazon I found that I kept bumping the top thumb button so I had to disable it, and the G5 mouse had only one thumb button limiting its customization. Would I recommend this mouse? Yes, it performed far beyond my expectations for a wireless mouse capable of gaming. For someone who is a casual gamer, this would be an excellent choice. With an amazing range of 20 feet within line sight, and still being precise, this mouse is a great choice for a home theatre pc as well.
