Conclusion:
My overall experience with the new Intel 6 series has been very enlightening. I have used a lot of cpu motherboard combinations in my time but I must say Intel has really done their homework on this one. Over clocking was so easy, it makes it impossible for you to not want to tweak settings. The most impressive part was the under 10 second super pi times. If any of you are not sure what Super Pi is, it is essentially a PC equivalent to a drag race, this CPU is quick and responsive and the overall performance made it a pleasure to use. If you couple an Intel X25 SSD into the mix you will have a PC you will be content with using for several years without the one year upgrade itch.
Would I recommend the new Intel series? Yes, Even though they had a rocky start with their SATA chipsets the new Sandy Bridge boards are solid and very well designed and the whole SATA issue has been resolved. Check out the contest and if you don’t win I still think spending the money on a kit like this just makes sense.
Pros:
- Fast
- Board Design Quality
- Component Quality
- Dead Simple Overclocking
- Not Prohibitively Priced
- Built in Graphics
- Unlocked
- 3.4Ghz Right out of the Box
- The Board Skull is Cool…
Cons:
- I am not a fan of the Sata Pointing out the Front on Some Cases your Components Interfere With Each Other
