We can see that all of the enclosures fall in the same area of performance. The thing to remember is that these tests are designed to expose flaws in the layout of the actual circuitry of the enclosure. Very, very rarely will this happen. Most are designed so that there is nothing slowing the flow of information through the USB cable. Let’s get away from the technical side of things now, and see what the verdict on this product is.

Conclusion:

How did it do? Very well, is the simple answer. From the tests we can see that it lacks nothing in performance, matching the other enclosures in most areas and surpassing them in others. Also of note was the fact that the plastic bodies of the other enclosures really didn’t inspire confidence that they would survive a drop. While I’m not recommending dropping the L-Series on the concrete, its solid feel and aluminum construction make a much more durable product.

Would I buy this? In a heartbeat. It’s small enough to be truly portable, but it’s not flimsy feeling. It manages to look good without compromising on performance. I also thought that the aluminum was a good choice of material due to its light weight and heat conductive properties. Cooler enclosure equals longer drive life. Installing the drive for the first time was also easy, two screws to remove and the enclosure is open. Overall I was very impressed with this product. There wasn’t anything that I personally didn’t like about it.

Pros:

  • Price
  • Aluminum Construction
  • Leather Styling
  • Performs with the Best
  • Product Visible in Packaging

Cons:

  • None
