The first thing I want to mention is the shrouding around the motherboard. At first glance I assumed it was intended to make it look better but, upon investigating it actually serves a better purpose, to improve the airflow over hotspots on the motherboard using wind tunnel system of sorts which directs cool air to components all over the board. Not only that but it is supposed to withstand temperatures of 100C and redirect hot air from the graphics card away from the motherboard. It goes to show you shouldn’t judge a motherboard by its plastic covering.

Its nice to know Asus didn’t skimp on the Ram size with the maximum being 32 GB. I think you would also be covered in relation to the I/O ports with eight USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, a PS/2 port, an eSATA port, a combo eSATA/USB port, a Gigabit Ethernet jack and 7.1-channel audio with optical S/PDIF out.  You should be able to manage with what Asus have provided here 😉

Now if you look at the testing you will see how nicely it performs. For almost every benchmark it stayed neck and neck with the P8P67 which is fantastic. My personal favorite result was super Pi coming in at under 10 seconds. The last thing I will mention is the BIOS. The EFI BIOS is how it should be done. Easy for all to use and click-able instead of the old arrow key navigation.

Would I recommend it? Yes this is a great motherboard for all levels of consumers. It can defiantly handle whatever you throw at it.
