Sometimes it can be hard to trust a new company when it comes to the most important part of your computer: the power supply. Some may protest but in actuality the power supply can make or break any computer build more so than any other component. If the power is not consistent the computer becomes unstable. If it does not shut off after a short, your computer becomes a very expensive paper weight. And if the wattage is a lie than the computer won’t be getting the amperage it needs to run. There have been too many power supply manufacturers that have come and gone that slap whatever wattage they want on the side of their power supplies and left the consumer with a large bill and a horrible product. Things are regulated a lot more now than ever before but it can still be quiet a process to break into the power supply market as a new company because of all the companies that have left a bad taste in everyone’s mouths. NZXT has a record of making great products and I for one will give them a chance today we will look st their Hale 90 750W power supply and see if all the worry is for nothing or if new companies should just stay away from the power supply market:

80+ Gold Enthusiast modular PSU | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
NZXT introduces the 80+ gold certified HALE90 series built from the ground up specifically customized for gamers and enthusiasts and offers incredibly efficient operation that will meet the needs of even the most power hungry enthusiasts. |
Testing Setup:
- AMD Phenom II 965 Black Edition
- Crucial DDR3 PC3 16000 2 x 1 GB
- Cooler Master HAF Special: AMD
- ATI 5870
- Western Digital 1TB HDD
- Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit Edition
In order to test the power supply we will be putting it up against other PSU’s in its class. I will be running both a load and idle test on all the power supplies and recording the data. The comparison power supplies with be a Cooler Master GS 750W and a Coolmax USA CUL 750W and a ZP 750W.
Again much like last time the NZXT Hale Series stayed rock solid. I was very impressed with the performance and I believe NZXT has a real winning combination of PSU’s and Cases to keep up with the larger competitors.
Conclusion:
I like the HALE Series of Power Supplies coming from NZXT I am not going to lie they look awesome in any build and the attention to detail is very impressive. The Amperage is very impressive and the performance is solid and stable. I would be content with a HALE PSU in any of my builds.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, for most, but not all if you are sticking this thing into a business workstation and you are not going to show it off then you don’t deserve one. On the other hand if you are a gamer or enthusiast and you are going to put this into a windowed case then by all means grab one.
Pros:
- Price
- Style
- Performance
- Modular
- Solid Voltages
Cons:
- None Really
