With great power comes great responsibility, or so I am told. I suppose this is true but not entirely applicable in the PC world. If the statement were to read with great power comes great gameability, Great overclockability, or even great stability, then the statement would be everything that encompasses a happy system. Without a great power supply you cannot have a great PC. The amount of blue screens, crashes and motherboard and other component damage a poor power supply can cause it is worth it to shell out the little bit extra needed to get the right power supply for your applications. Today we will be looking at a company that most would consider a veteran in the industry: Thermaltake, We will be checking out their latest Power supply the Thermaltake Evo Blu 650W PSU. Testing:
In order to test the power supply we will be putting it up against other PSU’s in its class. I will be running both a load and idle test on all the power supplies and recording the data. The comparison power supplies with be a Cooler Master GS 750W and a Coolmax USA CUL 750W and a ZP 750W.

Any time a PSU can remain rock solid under load and idle tests you know you have a fantastic power supply. The only two to stay rock solid were the Cooler Master and the Thermaltake and this is to be expected because they were the higher end power supplies of the group.
Conclusion:
If you are in the market for a good power supply I strongly suggest checking out the Thermaltake Evo Blue Series 650W or if you need a little more oomph check out the 750W version. I liked what I saw during testing and I will keep running my Thermaltake 650W in my AMD testing rig right up until I get higher end cross fire going in it. Up untill 650W’s isn;t enough for this rig though I will keep it running.
Would I recommend this products? Yes, Thermaltake makes great products and I have yet to be disappointed. Also gamers will love the custom light options. Keep it up Thermaltake!
